What Can A Diabetic 1 Do To Put On Weight Got It At 90th Can’t Put On Weight
My mother had this issue after being diagnosed with LADA. The doctor had her drink a Glucerna or other diabetes friendly shake along with her normal diet. These "meal replacement" shakes won't spike your blood sugar, but add calories and nutrients to help you put back on the weight. Once you're back to where you want, you can stop drinking the shakes. If memory serves, she only needed one per day, but I'm not sure on that.
Have you tried protein drinks? I would talk with your doctor about the weight gain. Also, if you don’t already have o e, possibly seeing a dietician.
Don't focus on the weight issue. Please understand that with gaining weight will impact your diabetes regiment and please consult with your medical team. Calories consumption will get you to gain weight but your glucose levels will be a fight. As we age our metabolism slows down and getting rid of those lbs becomes more difficult.
I the good old days I weighed 140 and was 5" 6". Now I'm 99 and 5"2". I keep trying to gain weight also. I've been 99 for months. I just keep hoping. 110 would be great. My BMI is 17.99. Skinny. I hope you find a way.
