Mine is, "You shouldn't eat that!" If they ask "can you eat that?" it gives me the chance to explain that I can. Telling me that I shouldn't, they've already made up their minds, which makes it much more difficult in my opinion.

Didn’t mean to embarrass you, but you’ll find that a lot of people don’t understand but when you say I’m diabetic and my BS is low they step right up!
I always carry candy with me but prefer to eat my meal if possible rather than candy.😍

Definitely "Can you have that?" Say it's a cookie, I'll say, " The only kind of cookie I can't eat is the kind with poison in them!"
