I maintain blood sugars (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators)% of my weeks. I do it with low carb and high protein! Been eating Thai way for years!! No fruit except a few berries, no grains, no starches and no sugar. It makes my life so simple. My T1d lives in the backseat of my life!! Protein and veggies - it’s good clean eating which is serving me extremely well. Last A1c was 4.7% - and I’ve been fighting cancer the last 6 months. So this result is after steroids, 10 radiation doses, 12 chemo cycles and all the accompanying oral meds. Low carb and high protein kept my diabetic life descale and steady - while waging the cancer battle!!!

Eating high fiber foods like beans and whole grains will help. Lots of veggies which are low in carbohydrates, low fat proteins, and some fruits (but don't overdo the fruit!). Basically a Mediteranian Diet.

On your food choices. I put my fruit serving at morning & lunch. I also try no pork products at night, since the fat content will slowly raise your blood sugar.
