Eli Lilly has announced there is a shortage of Humalog and Levemir. No reason was given that I am aware of.
My insurance company annonced it is not going to cover Humalog this year, but will cover Insulin Lispro, the generic. I had an allergic reaction to Lispro the last time I tried it. So, I have asked my doctor to file for a Prior Authorization to get Humalog covered for me.
My new insurance company told me they don’t cover Humulog, the insulin I’ve used for over 20 years. Now I use Admelog, which I assume is a generic version.
