Tips For Drinking Beer/Alcohol?
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how you count carbs/manage insulin for when you are drinking (beer specifically). I work at a brewery and I would love to enjoy one of our tasty brews every now and then, but the information I've found online about the carbs in beer isn't super helpful. We have a lot of higher ABV IPAs and sours, which I can't find info on.
Kip!! I live in GA and just an hour away from the original Monday Night Brewing! They have great beers. And yes a ton of carb heavy stouts haha I'm so jealous. You're literally living the dream. Cheers 🍻
OMG this is super helpful! I'll definitely start with that. I work at a taproom in Nashville called Monday Night Brewing. We have lots of IPAs, sours, and imperial stouts. Not a big light beer selection though, which makes the carb counting difficult 😅
Alcohol generally lowers blood sugars but beer has wheat in it and therefore carbs. I'm a craft beer fanatic and find most beers are usually about 15-20g of carbs for a 12-16 oz pour. I would start off giving yourself insulin for 10g of carbs per beer and see how that works for you. Kind of a trial & error situation. I find fruited sours to be particularly full of sugars. What brewery do you work for? I'm super jealous, that's like my dream job ❤️
