My personal opinion is not to disregard the craving, instead satisfy it the first time around. Have that piece of candy or that piece of cake, just make sure it’s a small amount. My daughter Rae has told me making believe the craving is not there makes the craving worse. Make sure you cover yourself with insulin for that sweet and enjoy!! Just make sure it’s not a daily occurrence. If it does start to become a daily craving then you would need to substitute with something like sweet fruit, for example pineapple. Fruit has natural sugar which your body processes differently than processed sugar. I always tell my daughter listen to your body. 99% of the time it won’t steer you wrong. Do what you think is right. No one knows your body better than you, so listen to what it’s telling you!! Good luck 👍

The advice I was always given from the dieting world was: when faced with a craving wait 10 minutes and see it it passes. I have found in practice that this works a majority of the time, the craving passes. When it doesn't work I have found that eating something that satisfies the craving is often better than not as you will often eat "around it" (eat too much other food to avoid the craving) but find yourself in the end having the sweet anyway (or whatever you were craving). That said, it's best to find the least harmful thing to satisfy the craving. Sometimes the craving is situational -- I was raised to have dessert after dinner so my mind wants something sweet when dinner is over. If that's the case try changing your routine - for example, instead of lingering at the table after dinner go for a walk (or if you're like me, too busy/tired to put your shoes on and go outside (especially in the winter!), start the laundry :-) ). And lastly, I have found the longer I go without something sweet the less I crave it. Good luck!

“You can’t have 2 if you don’t have one”… meaning you can’t eat that second cookie if you didn’t eat the first.

Drink a big glass of water, wait ten minutes, then reevaluate. That sweet craving isn’t worth feeling terrible and tired. Plus nothing taste better than being thinner. 🤓
