I Was Diagnosed With Insulin Resistance π©. What Causes It? How Can I Remedy It? I Was Placed On Mounjaro.
Do you rotate your pump sites? Putting the pump/infusion set in the same area can cause scar tissue to form, which in turn, can cause insulin resistance. So, one thing you can try is a new pump site. Ask your doctor or NP about this.
If you have put on weight, this can cause insulin resistance as well. If so, losing the extra weight will help.
Hi, I am prescribed Metformin for my insulin resistance. I take it in the morning and before bedtime. I take 10 to 12 units of insulin per day, exercise by jog/walking 3 to 4 times a week. If you have LADA, it is fairly common to also have insulin resistance.
I just turned 60 a couple months ago and been T1D for 30 yrs. I'm starting to notice insulin resistance. I still use syringes and a vial. I don't really inject in my abdomen anymore, just my arms and legs. I could afford to lose some weight but losing it is like almost impossible . I exercise as much as much as possible, I watch what I eat when I eat and what time. I have a appointment with my NP and hopefully she has some better ideas. Keep me in your prayersπ
