Hi Joan, I added my husband to my circle on the Beta Bionic app. He can see my glucose levels but not any of the other metrics like insulin units or insulin delivery. He does get notifications of any low or high BG levels. Will you be trained on the pump by a Beta Bionics rep and/or a diabetic educator?

Hi Joan,
The only con for me has been frequent overnight lows. I contacted the Beta Bionic support/ clinical team and they walked me through setting a secondary BG target for night time hours and I have fewer lows now. The pump maintenance( infusion set changes and insulin cartridge changes) were a bit overwhelming at first but have gotten easier with practice. The iLet is my first pump and I have called the customer support line several times with positive results. I have been able to talk with a rep quickly and they either provide an answer or have a clinical person call me back within a day. I have had the pump for 4 months now and my in range time has increased and my GMI has decreased. Hope this helps calm your nerves a bit.

Thanks Pam- you are correct that the iLet pump will make adjustments once the algorithm learns what is a usual meal for the user. This is the first pump for me and I am slowly learning how to maintain it, exercise with it and sleep wearing it. It is a little overwhelming but my numbers and time in range have all improved since I started with it a few weeks ago.

My understanding is 2 hour training from beta. I think this will be key

Thanks so much Kate. Did you set up to have any notifications sent to "trusted" friends or family? I live alone and was wondering about this. Thanks again
Joan
