A handful of nuts, for a small snack. Cheese or nut butter with crackers for a bigger snack I use a pump, and I bolus for the crackers. When I was taking shots, I would not bolus for my nighttime snack, as I was eating then to keep my blood sugar stable overnight. So, it depends.

If you are just looking for something to snack on during the day, veggies are a good choice, as they are low in carbs. Nuts are also good. Or, a piece of sugar-free candy. A slice of cheese, or your favorite cold cut, for a no-carb snack.

If looking for a snack to keep your sugar level from dropping, add some carb like hummus, crackers, or a slice of whole grain bread. Or, have a piece of fruit.

Basically, people with diabetes can eat anything. It's more matter of considering the carbohydrates in the snack. If you are low, or will be eating a late meal, you'll want some carbs. How much carb will depend on the situation. If you're just a little peckish, a low/no carb snack should do.
