I Am Having Many Lows During Walking Sessions. I Changed My Mode To Exercise On My Tandem Pump, But I Still Get Lows. Do I Change The Basal.
Or do I change the carb ratio?

If you are type 1, your basal is established under normal conditions. For me, I sit at a computer much of the day. My bg must remain consistent. If I were walking or active, such as stocking or working a grocery store, my basal requirement would drop slightly over time. Changes in activity do affect things. When my wife and I go shopping, I eat a fruit snack that I know will elevate me 30mg/dl. I easily work that off during a shopping trip. Doing this before the drop is better. Anticipate your activity level. I carry my medical bag with me all the time, and it contains the fruit snacks. Simple sugars are best. Complex sugars take longer to respond. I use Mott's or Welch's fruit snacks.
Do you eat a snack before you exercise i have been told to eat small snack before I do hard work
Thank you ❤️
Do not adjust your carb ratio! On your Tandem pump, when you choose "activity," instead of choosing "exercise," choose "temp rate." Here you can adjust your basal rate to a smaller percent of your normal basal. You can program it to give you 50% of your basal for the next hour or 2 hours, etc. The temp rate is up to you - 80%, 50%, 20%... as is the amount of time your pump stays at that rate.
Thank you
