I get tired so just tell myself to do something I enjoy doing rather it’s to go shopping
(don’t need to buy anything)
take a short nap, just figure you’re a senior citizen and we slow down. Don’t consider these as excuses just that we are older. Actually, a lot of my friends who don’t have diabetes take naps and do the same things I do. Also fun to just go and do anything with someone else rather it be a friend, grandchildren (mine are 5 and 7yo ..they tell me I’m slower because I’m older .
Or just do something you enjoy doing. May feel tired so just do what you feel like doing
I will be celebrating 40 years this May. While there are times that I feel like I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS... after so many years of managing it all, it's just second nature to me now. The unexpected, unexplained readings still piss me off for certain! My first Endo was famous for saying, "The only predictable thing about diabetes; is its UNpredictability! I think every diabetic needs a diabetic friend! Having someone to share those frustrations with and being a friend to others who are dealing with the same frustrations always make it better! I'm thinking that I'd like to host a free weekly Zoom roundtable for the people here looking for a place to feel less alone. I think it would be helpful for us all!
Funny: I'm at 62 years since age 2. Don't remember anything prior so T1D IS normal! I've got some longer term issues but most day to day are OK. Biggest issues ate with medical personnel not knowing basics of type 1!
