Weight Control With High Blood Sugar

A myT1Dteam Member asked a question 💭

In my 20's I controlled my weight by having high blood sugar. It also caused early kidney failure thus the kidney/pancreas transplant. It was all about me controlling something/anything in my life. Does anyone else do this, or thought about this? I wish I had the education and the new gadgets that are out now.

You can. Using the G6
Just need to keep the sensor number handy. Remove the transmitter and wait 10 minutes.
Start like it’s new. Reinstall transmitter and wait your 2 hour warmup. 🤷‍♂️

Has Anyone Else Ever Experience Wild Blood Sugar Discrepancies With The Dexcom Compared To Their Meter Read?

A myT1Dteam Member asked a question 💭
Ladera Ranch, CA

When on the Dexcom 6, I often experienced a variant of over 35% compared to my meter read. This landed me in the hospital with a critical low (below 25). I ended up getting off the Dexcom because the FDA has approved a known 25% variant (meaning: Dexcom says your 120 but your actual BS is 90 or lower). My Dexcom would read 175 but I was actually 98, this would mean I was way over dosing by trusting the Dexcom read.

A myT1Dteam Member

I have with dexcom and libre they are not always accurate especially when you sleep
